This page is an independent warning about Nectar-Pay.com (also styled "Nectar.Pay"). If you were sent here by a friend, a forum, or a search result — slow down and read the facts before you connect a wallet, paste an xpub, or integrate the plugin into your POS.
Nectar-Pay markets itself as a "non-custodial" crypto payment gateway accepting BTC, TEXITcoin and EVM stablecoins. The pitch is clean. The operator behind it — and the technical story they tell — does not hold up.
There is no listed company, no jurisdiction, no registered agent, no physical address. Where are they? What court hears your complaint when something goes wrong? An email address — hello@honest.money — is your only point of contact.
Nectar.Pay's payment-gateway design appears to infringe US patents held by third parties. Their fee model is not financially feasible if any of these patents are properly licensed.
Are you sure you want to integrate Nectar.Pay into your POS when they are likely to be shut down the moment patent holders notice?
It's ironic that they advertise being part of the "Honest Money" network when one of their primary selling points isn't true. Nectar-Pay is not "built on" TEXITcoin.
TEXITcoin has no smart-contract functionality. Ordinary web servers facilitate the crypto transactions on each respective network. The only actual use of TEXITcoin in this product is paying Nectar.Pay's own subscription fees.
Crypto payment solutions have existed for years. The reason they're rare in checkout flows isn't that stores don't want to accept crypto or don't know how — it's that consumers don't want to spend it. At least not in the United States.
Why would they? Their credit and debit cards give cash back, airline miles, and other rewards. Sure, some businesses discount for cash — but the savings vanish the moment the merchant has to cover that incentive, and we're right back where we started.
The only markets where crypto payment solutions become genuinely popular are markets where a large portion of the population already holds crypto and wants to spend it for routine transactions. That is not the US merchant market Nectar.Pay is pitching to.
